Case Study: City Council Chambers

integrated conferencing and voting systemAll-in-one conferencing and voting.

Media Vision USA provides an all-in-one conferencing and voting solution for city council chambers. A total conferencing system, each unit includes intelligent audio reinforcement with three standard voting buttons (Yes/No/Abstain) and built-in speakers.

The chairperson of the council has the option to control the microphones of other council members, and can view the queue list via a simple touch panel. After every resolution, the queuing list of council members appears on a large screen (visible to the audience) as they request to speak. The chairperson controls various speaking modes—including voice activation, request-to-speak and push-to-talk—which helps council chamber sessions run smoothly.

Audio inputs and outputs are available through the main unit and send mixed audio signals to the house system covering the gallery. A tape output on the main unit has a cassette or CD recording option.

In terms of voting, details and results are all recorded, including the resolution number, a time stamp and notation of how each individual council member voted on every resolution. Results are made available in various graphic formats, including bar and pie charts, and all information is available for printout or retrieval in a spreadsheet format.
